Mid-Seasaon Ski Trends: What to Know for Vail & Beaver Creek

We’re midway through the season, and it’s been a great ride so far! Whether you’ve been hitting the slopes every weekend or still planning your ski days, here’s what you need to know to make the most of the rest of winter.
⛷ Current Snow Conditions – Early season saw some great conditions and the recent artic weather has has visitors bundling up. Snopack levels across the Vail Valley are at 108% of normal. Vail has a base depth of 51" (machine groomed) while Beaver Creek is at 44".
🏔 Best Times to Ski – Mid-February and the 2nd-4th weeks of March will means more visitors, but weekdays and certain lift-access strategies can still help you avoid the crowds. If you can still book a trip between now and President's weekend, it's one of the best times of year with fewer visitors and some epic snow!Pro tip: Mornings after a weekday storm often offer the best turns with fewer people! Saturdays will see the biggest crowds as front-rangers travel in for weekend turns!
🎿 Looking Ahead – With spring skiing a month out on the horizon, what can we expect for the rest of the season? March is historically a big snow month even if it's not talked about as much. Resort events like Spring Back to Vail are sure to bring in some extra visitors, but they're not always the early risers, so you'll still be able to find some fresh tracks if you're out early!
