We live in a time where wealth-building advice is everywhere—tweets, TikToks, newsletters, podcasts. But if you peel back the layers of hype, the real formula that ultra-high-net-worth individuals use to grow (and keep) wealth is actually pretty simple.

It’s not about timing the market perfectly or finding the next big thing.
It’s about discipline, structure, and execution over time.
Start With a Clear Plan
Every long-term wealth strategy starts the same way: with a personal roadmap. Before you chase returns, ask yourself:
What are my long-term goals?
How much do I want to be worth?
What does financial independence actually look like for me (and my family)?
What do I want my monthly cash-flow to be?
When do I want to be there?
Without a destination, no investment vehicle gets you anywhere meaningful.
Know Your Balance Sheet
Want to treat your finances like a business? Then you need to track your personal balance sheet like one. Assets, liabilities, equity—it all matters. Updating your net worth semi-annually or annually keeps you ahead of average, but are you aiming for average? Want to create true wealth and you better be measuring it at least monthly. This will create focus and help you measure progress.
More importantly, it gives you a true picture of whether your strategy is working—or just making you feel busy. Youe will be able to recognize when a pivot is necessary.
Understand Your Risk Tolerance
Risk tolerance isn’t just about how much volatility you can stomach—it’s also about understanding what kind of assets you’re most comfortable owning. Some investors thrive on the pace of equities. Others prefer the control and predictability of real estate. And some do best with a blend.
Knowing your tolerance helps prevent panic (or paralysis) when the market inevitably gets rocky.
Be Ruthless About Execution
Here’s where the difference between $10M and $30M comes in.
At a recent conference, I listened to a mentor explain a simple (but powerful) scenario:
Start with $500,000
Add $3,500/month
Achieve an 8% annual return, and you’ll have $10M over time
Raise that return to 12%, and the number grows to $30M
That’s compounding at work in a niche you develop an unfair advantage in (more to follow in another article on this). But it only happens when you stay invested, stick to your strategy, and don’t let emotion drive decisions.
That doesn’t mean you don’t make changes—but those changes should be intentional, informed, and aligned with your overall goals.
So What’s the Play?
In real life, wealth-building isn’t always glamorous. It’s regular reviews of your financial picture. It’s automated contributions to your investment accounts. It’s revisiting your real estate portfolio to ensure it’s still aligned with your long-term plan.
And yes, it’s sometimes resisting the urge to make a move just because everyone else is.
Whether you’re holding real estate, building a business, or diversifying across asset classes, the core principle is the same:
📈 Plan. Execute. Reinvest. Repeat.
If you’re ready to take a more strategic approach to your long-term wealth—and want to incorporate real estate in a way that aligns with your goals—let’s have that conversation.
It’s not about the flash. It’s about the follow-through.
